Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to strategize the BJP's approach for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections during his visit to Karnataka. The President of the state's BJP unit, B Y Vijayendra, announced that Shah would convene meetings with party leaders in Karnataka to discuss various aspects of the election strategy.
Shah's itinerary includes attending the Sutturu Jathra (fair) in Sutturu and visiting the Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi hills. He will also engage in discussions with the state BJP core committee members and leaders from the Mysuru cluster. The meetings aim to deliberate on strategies to strengthen the BJP's position in the upcoming polls.
Key discussions are expected to revolve around the BJP's alliance with the JD(S) and the coordination between workers and leaders of both parties at the grassroots level. The allocation of seats to the regional party will also be on the agenda.
Vijayendra highlighted the significance of ensuring harmony between BJP and JD(S) workers to maximize electoral success. The joint efforts of both parties underscore a strategic move to secure victories across all constituencies.
Regarding the seat-sharing negotiations, Vijayendra emphasized that discussions are ongoing between the BJP and JD(S). He addressed queries about specific constituencies, including Mandya, where there is speculation surrounding Sumalatha Ambareesh's candidacy. Vijayendra stated that decisions regarding such matters would be made by the party's leadership in Delhi.
