He is said to be in good health overall, according to the doctors. Last year, however, doctors discovered that he had a long-known heart problem that he masked after they implanted a pacemaker. Yariv Levin, currently the Justice Minister of Israel and also holding the title of Deputy Prime Minister, will serve as the acting Prime Minister in the absence of Benjamin Netanyahu, the office said. The Prime Minister will be unconscious and under full anesthesia throughout the procedure.
In the ongoing war between the two countries, more than 32,000 Palestinians have died. Israel has faced intense international pressure due to the death toll. People already had some doubts about the leadership of Benjamin Netanyahu because of the judicial crisis, and his popularity has taken a major hit since the war as well. But now, in his 6th term, Benjamin Netanyahu is Israel's longest-serving leader ever.
