BYD Auto India has made a significant stride in the Indian passenger vehicle market with the launch of its latest offering, the Seal electric sedan. This sleek and stylish sedan comes in three variants - Dynamic, Premium, and Performance, catering to different customer preferences and needs. With prices ranging from Rs 41.00 lakh to Rs 53.00 lakh (ex-showroom), the Seal aims to carve a niche for itself in the growing electric vehicle segment.

Design and Dimensions

The Seal electric sedan shares its platform with the Atto 3 SUV, offering a similar sleek and low-slung design reminiscent of a four-door coupe. It measures 4,800 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm.

Interior Features

Inside the cabin, the Seal boasts a modern digital layout with a prominent dashboard featuring two free-standing screens for the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The touchscreen can be adjusted between portrait and landscape orientations, adding to the convenience and aesthetics of the interior.

Advanced Safety and Technology

The Seal comes loaded with advanced safety features, including nine airbags, traction control, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), powered driver and co-driver seats, heated and ventilated seats, a 15.6-inch touchscreen, and dual-zone climate control. Higher variants offer additional features such as a heads-up display, torque vectoring system, memory functions for the door mirrors and driver seat, and faster charging support, ensuring a safe and comfortable driving experience.

Powertrain Options

Buyers have the option to choose between rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. The rear-wheel-drive variants are available in two power options - a 201 bhp and 310 Nm variant in the base Dynamic trim or a more potent 308 bhp and 360 Nm option in the premium variant. The top-tier performance trim offers an all-wheel-drive powertrain producing a combined 523 bhp and 670 Nm, along with adaptive dampers for enhanced handling and performance.

Battery and Range

The Seal is equipped with either a 61.44 kWh or an 82.56 kWh battery pack, depending on the variant. The standard range variant offers a range of up to 510 km, while the more powerful variants and AWD models provide up to 650 km and 580 km of range, respectively (NEDC figures), ensuring ample range for long drives without compromising on performance.
