The excitement intensified when Brazilian Cleiton Silva netted a penalty in the 55th minute, giving East Bengal the lead after Dipak Tangri's foul on Mahesh Singh. Heated moments ensued between players on both sides. However, East Bengal's defense faltered in the dying minutes, allowing Dimitri Petratos to level the scores with an unmarked finish from a Manvir cross.

Meanwhile, in another fixture, Punjab FC secured a comfortable Round 13 victory against Bengaluru FC, climbing to the ninth position in the table. Wilmar Jordan Gil, Luka Majcen, and Madih Talal contributed to Punjab's 3-1 win, with Sunil Chhetri scoring Bengaluru's consolation goal. Punjab FC's second victory of the season propelled them to the ninth position with 11 points from 13 matches, while Bengaluru FC dropped to 10th.

The match saw Chhetri's early header providing Bengaluru with the lead, but Punjab swiftly responded with a goal from Tekcham Abhishek Singh. The turning point came in the 72nd minute when a counter-attack orchestrated by Luka and finished by Madih Talal secured Punjab's lead. Despite Bengaluru's efforts, Punjab increased their advantage with Madih Talal finding the net again in the 77th minute. Punjab FC is set to face Kerala Blasters FC on February 12 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.
