Ramotsav 2024: Yogi Govt Strengthens Ayodhya Security Using ATS, STF, Tech Surveillance
Ramotsav 2024

In the lead-up to the much-anticipated Ram Temple Consecration Ceremony in Ayodhya, the Yogi government is sparing no effort in fortifying security measures through a holistic approach that spans land, air, and water surveillance.

A formidable deployment of the Uttar Pradesh Police, including elite units like ATS, STF, PAC, and UPSSF, forms the backbone of the security apparatus. Complementing these ground forces, state-of-the-art technologies, including artificial intelligence, anti-drone systems, and an extensive CCTV network, are being harnessed for comprehensive city-wide monitoring.

Ensuring security across the entire spectrum, a National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) contingent has been strategically stationed along the Sarayu River and its ghats. Ayodhya's administration is introducing bar coding as an additional layer of security, particularly focused on safeguarding the multitude of expected guests during this historic event.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's directives have set the tone for a robust security framework. The city is divided into red and yellow security zones, with Central agencies like CRPF and NDRF actively collaborating. Intelligence agencies such as the Intelligence Bureau and RAW are providing crucial support.

The security team, comprising over 100 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), around 325 inspectors, and 800 sub-inspectors, showcases the scale of preparedness. Leading up to the main event, a formidable contingent of 11,000 personnel from police and paramilitary forces will be deployed to ensure seamless security. VIP security protocols are meticulous, with the involvement of three DIGs, 17 SPs, 40 ASPs, 82 DSPs, 90 inspectors, over a thousand constables, and four companies of the PAC.

To facilitate effective coordination and avoid any security lapses, collaboration among all agencies involved in security operations is emphasized. Special measures have been instituted for rail security, and additional personnel have been allocated to the Government Railway Police (GRP). Forces deployed in Ayodhya are undergoing behavioral training to ensure positive interactions with devotees and guests, fostering a sense of security.

Ayodhya's security infrastructure leverages cutting-edge technology, with the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) monitoring the entire city. Integration of 1500 public CCTV cameras into ITMS enhances surveillance capabilities. Facial recognition AI-based big screens deployed in the yellow zone at 10,715 locations add an extra layer of security.

The city is equipped with 12 anti-drone systems, utilizing Israeli-manufactured technology to monitor activities within a 5-kilometer radius on land, water, and in the air. This advanced anti-drone system not only locates drones but also has the capability to deactivate them, ensuring comprehensive security measures.

To ensure the convenience and security of VIPs during the event, bar coding is being implemented. In addition, 250 police guides have been appointed, and a digital tourist app set to launch on January 14 will provide information about tourist spots, contributing to a well-rounded and robust security plan for the historic ceremony.
