Renault Duster SUV

Renault has unveiled the all-new Duster SUV, previously showcased as a Dacia last year. This revised version from Renault incorporates subtle alterations in its appearance, as evident in the recently released images. Notable changes include the prominent display of the "Renault" brand name on the front grille and throughout the vehicle, replacing the previous Dacia branding. Additionally, interior refinements such as seat designs and other components have been subtly tweaked.

Specifications

  • Platform and Dimensions: The new Duster is constructed on a robust platform, retaining its rugged demeanor while exhibiting a fiercer appearance. With a length of 4.34 meters, it is slightly longer than its predecessor. A version with seven seats, akin to the Dacia Bigster concept, is also in the pipeline but will be released later. The wheelbase of the Renault Duster measures 2,657mm, slightly shorter than before.

  • Exterior Design: The Renault Duster maintains its tough stance with slender Y-shaped LED daytime lights, vertical bumper air vents housing round fog lights, and a lower grille reminiscent of a flattened bull bar. It boasts 18-inch alloy wheels with a straightforward design and features a Y-shaped tail-light and bumper design at the rear, echoing its Dacia counterpart.

  • Interior Highlights: The dashboard, with its dual-layer design, bears resemblance to the previous model but is distinctively styled for the Renault version. Notable enhancements include seat covers and finishing touches unique to Renault. The top variant boasts dual digital displays - a 7.0-inch screen for driver information and a 10.1-inch touchscreen for entertainment. While both versions sport screens of similar sizes, they employ different styles and color schemes for display menus.

  • Technology and Safety Features: Both Duster SUVs share advanced features such as wireless charging, wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automated air conditioning, and a six-speaker Arkamys sound system. Additionally, they are equipped with safety features including automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warnings, and parking assistance.

  • Powertrain: While specific engine details for the Renault Duster are yet to be disclosed, it is expected to offer three engine options similar to its Dacia counterpart. These options may include a 1.6-liter petrol hybrid engine with two electric motors, a 130hp, 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine with a 48V starter motor, and a 1.0-liter petrol-LPG engine in select regions.

  • Off-road Capability: The Duster is equipped with various driving modes including Auto, Snow, Mud/Sand, Off-road, and Eco. It boasts a ground clearance of 217mm and impressive tilt angles of 31 degrees forward and 36 degrees backward.
