The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the highly anticipated schedule for the T20 World Cup 2024, promising a historic event as it ventures into new territories with co-hosts West Indies and the United States of America. Running from June 1 to June 29, 2024, this tournament marks a groundbreaking moment for cricket, featuring matches played in the United States for the first time in ICC World Cup history. The inaugural clash is set to be between USA and Canada, scheduled to kick off the tournament.

A total of 55 matches will unfold across 9 venues, promising an electrifying month of cricket. The Super Eight stage, following the initial group matches, will see teams maintaining their seeding if they advance. These critical encounters are planned in popular Caribbean tourist destinations such as Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The journey to the final will witness the top two teams from each Super Eight group progressing to the semi-finals, hosted in Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago on June 26 and June 27, respectively. The pinnacle of the tournament, the final, is scheduled to take place at the iconic Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 29.

One of the most awaited fixtures is the clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, scheduled for June 9 in New York. India's schedule in the group stage also includes encounters with Ireland, USA, and Canada, adding an extra layer of excitement to the Group A matchups.

The 20 participating teams are divided into four groups:

  • Group A: India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, USA
  • Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman
  • Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea
  • Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nepal

The tournament will unfold in various confirmed venues, with matches set to be held in the United States at Broward County in Florida, Grand Prairie in Dallas, and Eisenhower Park in New York. In the West Indies, cricket enthusiasts can expect action at Arnos Vale Stadium, Queen's Park Oval, Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Kensington Oval, Providence Stadium, and Darren Sammy Cricket Ground. Although Dominica initially intended to host matches, the country withdrew from the event in late 2023.
